Nazife Tuğçe Onuk Madanoğlu is a Landscape Architect with a Ph.D., specializing in the integration of ecological research into sustainable design and planning processes. With over 20 years of professional experience, including 10 years as the founder of an award-winning design office, she has led multidisciplinary teams for national and international projects, focusing on ecological restoration, water-sensitive urban design, and sustainable landscape development.
Her academic work bridges the gap between theory and practice. Her doctoral research at Istanbul Technical University centered on developing control systems and design methods for integrating stormwater management into landscape design, contributing to climate adaptation strategies and urban ecological resilience. Alongside her research, she has held roles as a lecturer, guest jury member, and invited speaker at leading universities.
In her professional career, she has played a key role in large-scale projects such as the Ecological Rehabilitation and Design Project of Istanbul’s rivers, conducted in collaboration with Seoul’s Cheonggyecheon team. Her design approach is driven by a strong research foundation, environmental responsibility, and a commitment to advancing resilient and livable urban environments through landscape architecture.
